Known in Japan since the days of the original PlayStation, Career Soft's Growlanser series teams up on North American PS2s in this special two-game release. Included are both Growlanser II: The Sense of Justice and Growlanser III: The Dual Darkness; cult hits in across the Pacific but previously unavailable to North American gamers.

The games follow many conventions of the tactical role-playing style, including an isometric perspective, squad-based battles between diverse parties, a complicated system of cause and effect as fights play out, and customizable character development. However, Growlanser boasts enormous campaign worlds and open-ended stories that distinguish it from many more familiar strategy role-playing games.

All good RPGs tell a story, but only some allow the player to truly influence the story's outcome. Whether a formal face-off or a random encounter, each battle in Growlanser may have long-range consequences. The developer boasts the games must be completed at least twice for players to see even half of the possible events and outcomes the game world offers.
