The Contra series has been a popular action game for many people. Now the original creators have come back to bring the series back to the life. It has the same feel of the other Contra games, but it has never looked anything like this before. The gameplay is the same fast 2D style, but enriched with 3D environments and effects. You can play two players simultaneously as in the past games. Wide array of weapons are available, many of the oldies, some enhanced, some new. Unlockable endings and levels give it even more replay value.

(PS2) SIlent Hill 4: The Room [NTSC-U] [2.18 GB]

Silent Hill 4: The Room is similar to past games in terms of atmosphere. The game is dark and foreboding, never letting you know what's behind the next corner or down the street.

SH4 takes the series in a new direction, with multiple new features. First and foremost is never actually leaving your apartment. You utilize a strange portal to travel to alternate dimensions, including a hospital, a cult command center deep in the forest, and a prison.

Aside from the traditional third-person-view, there is now a first-person mode, which is used to control Henry when he is in his apartment. The game has a feature that, whenever you look at something of importance, an eyeball will appear to tell you that you can interact with it.

The previous games have mostly been about exploring the town and solving puzzles, but Silent Hill 4 has much more combat involved. There are more enemies in a given area, and more narrow areas and cramped spaces. To help you in combat, you've got the standard arsenal of Silent Hill games, such as the steel pipe, pistol, and new to this game, a golf club.

(PS2) Silent Hill 3 [NTSC-U] [1.99GB]

The classic Silent Hill horror series continues with Silent Hill 3. As a teenybopper named Heather, players must explore an accursed town and Heather's strange inexplicable fears. Nightmares and reality combine for a potent mixture of uncertainty with every development in the story. New grotesque monsters, psychologically horrifying scenes, and plenty of gory shooting action -- with pistols and fully automatic weapons -- are in store.

(PS2) Silent Hill 2 [NTSC-U] [1.96GB]

The player is cast in a role of James Sunderland, on first sight a normal person who got confused as anyone else would as he received a letter from his wife asking him to come to Silent Hill, to their special place. The only problem is that his wife died three years ago, and has kept the secrets surrounding her death. James decides to honor the letter's request, wondering if this is a sick joke or if there is more to this. As James reaches the outskirt of Silent Hill, he finds that the road is blocked, and parks at an abandoned restroom. Little does he realize that this is the first step forward into the mystery of Silent Hill.

This is the original Silent Hill 2 game with no extras of any kind, and released for PlayStation 2 exclusively. A version with new weapons, new characters to play with, and new "Born from a Wish" scenario was released as Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams. These features made it to North America for the Playstation 2 in the form of the game's Greatest Hits release.

(PS2) Castlevania: Lament of Innocence [NTSC-U] [2.10 GB]

Castlevania: Lament of Innocence is the prequel to all Castlevania games previously released, explaining the connection and never-ending war between the Belmont family and Dracula. It is one of the first 3-D Castlevania games (the others being on the N64). The team who created the PS1 Castlevania: Symphony of the Night completely remake the formula.

You play Leon Belmont, who was once a Baron for the King. After his betrothed, Sara, was kidnapped and taken to a large castle, Leon asked the Church for permission to command his underlings to attack the castle. Because of the Crusades going on in the East, he is denied such. But because of his love for Sara, he denounces his title and leaves, going with no weapon or clue to the castle. He is stopped by an alchemist named Rinaldo, who was once a vampire-hunter himself. He gives Leon the Whip of Alchemy, offers to help him further in his quest, and sends him on his way.

The gameplay mixes a style of hack-and-slash with a sense of strategy. In order to gain new abilities, you must first master the previous ones. This also includes relics and orbs, which will greatly help you in your quest to rescue Sara. Relics allow you to do special abilities necessary to solving certain puzzles, while orbs combine with power-ups you pick up and can create massive offensive or defensive power. This makes the game incredibly addictive. You'll be trying to find every Relic and Orb and unlock every Skill.

The game has many hidden secrets - In fact, most gamers will only find about two Relics through the entire game. There are also five hidden bosses, each giving you something very good. A few will give you whip power-ups, while others will give you orbs and relics. Getting the game's discovery rating to 100% is quite a task, but well worth it in the end.

(PS2) Firefighter F.D.18 [NTSC-U] [732MB]

Firefighter F.D. 18 is your basic action/adventure game with a twist. Instead on monsters, the game's main protagonist Dean McGregor has to take on some nasty fires instead. Most of the time the player is putting out fires, saving innocent people and completing other tasks. Once in a while, there is also a "Boss Fire" who has to be defeated before one can proceed to the next level. This is not a fireman simulation by any means, but an arcade-like experience with lots of flames, and a storyline, which revolves around an arsonist and is as deep and multi layered as your typical action movie. The main thing about Firefighter F.D. 18 however, is the action, and there's plenty of it.

(PS2) Suikoden IV [PAL-E] [1.80GB]

The fourth game in Konami's console-style role-playing series is a prequel rather than a sequel, set a century and a half before the events of the original 1996 PlayStation game. Players take the role of a young, would-be hero, who will come to carry an item called the Rune of Punishment. Like all runes, this one is powerful, but it is also very dangerous, for it damages its wielder when it's used. Like earlier Suikoden games, this fourth edition also involves gathering the "Stars of Destiny," which are 108 people from all walks of life who can be teamed together to accomplish great deeds.

As the game begins, the player's character is just finishing his training at a naval academy, and being prepared for his first real battles. Because this game plays out across a string of mysterious islands, sea combat can be a regular occurrence, so the hero's training should serve him well. Much of the adventure still involves exploring the game world's various land masses, however, engaging in small-party turn-based battles and coaxing clues from other characters. Though the game's artwork remains notably stylized, characters have a more realistic (less anime-inspired) look than those of earlier Suikoden titles.

(PS2) Suikoden IV [NTSC-U] [1.84GB]

This is the fourth installment of Konami's famous role-playing series, which are loosely based on the classic Chinese novel Water Margins by Shi Nai'an. The events of the game take place 150 years before those of Suikoden III, and the region of the Suikoden universe they occur in are the islands south of Toran. The hero of the game is a young orphan who was brought up as a servant in a nobleman's house on one of those islands. One day, he finds a magic rune, and realizes it is the Rune of Punishment - one of the 27 legendary True Runes that grant the bearer enormous power. Yet while devastating the enemies, this rune is also bound to deplete the hero's life....

"Suikoden IV" retains many classic features of the series: the ability to recruit 108 characters (Stars of Destiny) and to build and develop your own castle, emphasis on political issues in the story, the ability to equip runes of various kinds in combat that allow the usage of magic spells, etc. You can now have only four active members in your party (six in previous games). Once again, there are three types of combat in the game: the most common, party-vs.-party combat, the duels, and strategic ship battles, which replaced the army battles from the previous games.

(PS2) Silent Scope [NTSC-U] [149MB]

Players become ace sharpshooters for this arcade port to the PlayStation 2. Instead of using the large sniper rifle found on the arcade Silent Scope machine, PS2 gamers use the directional button to take aim. Pressing a button alternates between the "regular" full screen mode and the "zoom" mode that would be seen through the scope in the arcade game. Find your target in the main view, fine-tune your aim through the scope, and take the shot. As in other versions of this title, extra points are awarded for good, clean shots. As the PS2 has all the power needed to run the arcade version of the game, very few changes were made to this during the conversion. Silent Scope for the PlayStation 2 does include a few extra training modes, not available in the arcade.

(PS2) Silent Scope 3 [NTSC-U] [217 MB]

Konami's third release in their Silent Scope series of sniper games once again sets its sights on PlayStation 2. Two different versions of shooting action are included on the single-player disc, the original arcade version of Silent Scope EX and a specially designed home version of Silent Scope 3. Players are once again cast in the role of the world's greatest sharpshooter, this time on a mission to stop a terrorist group from seizing top-secret cloning technology. As in the two previous console versions, the game is played from a first-person viewpoint with players aiming crosshairs at enemies and then using a scope to zoom in for a precision shot.
