The seventh installment of the Final Fantasy series takes place in a post-modern, steampunk, sci-fi world where high technology reigns and where robots and bio-engineered mutants co-exist with humans and dragons.

The story focuses on Shinra Inc., an evil mega-corporation responsible for all the world's high technology. Shinra supports this technology with Mako Energy, Shinra's patented source of power. Unfortunately Mako is the lifeblood of the living planet and by using it up Shinra is slowly upsetting the balance of nature.

In comes AVALANCHE, a rebel group of disenfranchised citizens who have taken it upon themselves to oppose Shinra's ambitions. The main character is an ex-Shinra soldier named Cloud Strife, an angst ridden fella with a complex history that's explained as the game goes on. Cloud joins up with AVALANCHE as a mercenary for hire, and together they take on Shinra's maniacal executives and their army of shock-troops, robots, and mutants. However after a while it becomes apparent that there are other forces at work, and ultimately Cloud must not only fight against Shinra, but also stop a powerful man from his past from destroying the world.

Final Fantasy VII updates the Esper character growth system from Final Fantasy VI into the Materia system. Instead of magic spells, abilities, and bonus stats being saved to a single character, they are saved to the materia itself, allowing you to change a character's spells and abilities from the equipment menu at any time. Also updated from VI are character-specific abilities, now called Limit Breaks. By sustaining enough damage without dying a character will build up their Limit Gauge, which when filled can be expended to do a much more damaging attack than normal. More powerful Limit Breaks are unlocked as previous ones are used, and acquiring the most powerful Limit Break of each character will require completion of sub-quests. Final Fantasy VII also features plenty of mini-games and many ways to explore the game world, including the submarine first introduced in Final Fantasy III.

The hero of the game, an apprentice knight (named Finn by default), lives together with his father's friend in a village called Isla, located in the Kingdom of Marion. All of a sudden, the neighbor land Bandore Empire attacks the village. Finn manages to escapes and seeks shelter in the royal castle of Marion. But the castle has also fallen into the hands of the enemy. Followed by a group of loyal friends and servants, the young man sets on a long journey...

This game is a RPG with random encounters and turn-based combat with an extra feature: the player can press a random combination of buttons before attacking (or during enemy attack), and if the combination is guessed correctly, the party member will deal critical damage or will block the enemy's blow.

Known only as the feared "Einhander," you choose from one of three different aircraft, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. You take to the skies blasting and destroying everything the Moon sends at you; anything that moves.

Einhander is basically a traditional 2D shooter set in a 3D polygonal world. Featuring LOTS of stuff to blow up with a multitude of weapons, such as riot guns, grenade launchers and cannons, a wide selection of massive levels, beautiful graphics and an exciting apocalyptic techno soundtrack, this game is a shooter fan's dream!

After the last battle with Crash Bandicoot, Cortex is thrown down to Crash' island. In a cave he finds a crystal which he finds out holds great powers. Cortex plans to use these powers for an improved Cortex Vortex which will turn everyone on Earth into his mindless slaves. But in order to do that he has to find 25 other crystals to power the Cortex Vortex. He recruits his old enemy, Crash, to find them, but Crash doesn't know about Cortex' evil plans.

Dr. Neo Cortex and Dr. Nitrus Brio, two evil doctors determined to take over the world, create two devices to turn innocent creatures into genius destroyers of the world. One particular animal, a Bandicoot, is chosen to be the leader of the pack, but when the devices fail in their attempts, the animals are turned into crazy monsters. Only Crash Bandicoot survives with brain intact, now knowing that Neo Cortex is the real bad guy. Cortex notices the threat that Crash may cause, and banishes Crash to another island. So it is up to Crash to find his way through the islands monster population and stop Cortex from destroying the world, as well as saving his girlfriend who is next on the devices list.

In Crash' first appearance on the Playstation, you must run, jump and spin your way through this part 3D platform/part Side Scroller/part Mario 64 style adventure.

Jen is the girlfriend of a metal rocker named Lewis, who have both been through rough times in the past together. A strange and powerful creature attacks Lewis after a concert and runs off into the night with him, leaving Jen injured and near-death.

Jen meets a short gargoyle named Scree, who informs her that while she must leave the physical plane Mortalis and accompany him to the demon plane Oblivion. The creature who kidnapped Lewis and left her for dead is an agent of Abaddon who represents Chaos and has been locked in struggle for aeons with Arella, representing Order. The balance between Chaos and Order has been upset and it is Jen's task to restore the balance, all the while hoping to discover the whereabouts of Lewis.

Primal can be described as a "3D platformer", being somewhat similar in its basic gameplay mechanics to Tomb Raider games. Puzzle-solving and action-based combat constitute the focus of the gameplay. The player can switch between Jen and Scree at any time; Jen is capable of fighting, but Scree is invulnerable to enemy attacks. When Jen is incapacitated in combat, Scree must quickly restore her to life within a time limit; failure to do so prematurely ends the game.

Combat is heavily based on "finishing moves" and Jen's ability to transform into demonic forms. There are four demons Jen can merge herself with; they are obtained one by one as the game's narrative advances. These demonic forms allow Jen to use special abilities, which include jumping to extreme heights, unnaturally fast swimming, slowing down time, and using powerful weapons.

As a young inventor, you are called upon to search the dangerous dungeons, battle evil monsters and re-claim towns and cities.

By fighting your way through the various dungeons, you must find various ores hidden away. With these ores, you can determine which parts you need to re-build a town. It is up to you to find or create the parts needed to build the various buildings of each town, as well various other parts to each town.

During your adventure, you can also take pictures of various items. Once you have a certain amount, you can then come up with ideas for an invention that will aid you in your quest. From there, you must again find the parts needed to create the invention, and then use the invention either to help you defeat enemies or build the towns.

Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 2 offers a selection of over 400 new and secondhand vehicles from a total of 33 manufacturers. Gran Turismo 2 is split into two discs. One offers the arcade-style of GT racing while the second offers the world famous simulation GT mode, which starts players off with 10,000 credits. The game is split into Gran Turismo League, Special Event, Dirt Event, and Endurance races. Other features include detailed replays, Time Attack and 2-Player Battles in arcade mode, Machine Tests for testing the performance of your cars, and, all the adjustable car settings and upgrades to finely tune your vehicle.

The third title in Sony's popular Crash Bandicoot series, Crash Bandicoot 3 is the first to feature Coco as a playable character, and uses the "tunnel" 3D popularized in the earlier Crash games.

As in Crash Bandicoot 2 you have to collect 25 crystals that are scattered across time before your enemy Dr. Neo Cortex does. But this time the evil witch doctor Uka Uka is with Cortex to find the crystals and take over the world. With help from N. Tropy they build a Time Twister Machine to travel through time with. Crash and Coco must also use the Time Twister for gathering crystals, as usual with the help from the good witch doctor Aku Aku.

But there are also 42 gems scattered across time, just like in Crash 2. You must find them as well in order to complete the game. When you have collected all of the 25 crystals, then you can take on Cortex and Uka Uka.

He seeks the Dormin, a strange and God-like being that resides there. The Dormin is surprised that the man carries an ancient and magical sword, and speaks to the man. The man pleas for his help in bringing back the woman's cursed soul, however the being says it is the law of mortals that a dead soul cannot be brought back. He does say though, that if the man is willing to accept some heavy consequences, that there might be a way to revive her. But it will not be easy.

Our hero must embark on a quest to slay 16 colossi, giant creatures that tower hundreds of feet above the Earth. Using his ancient sword and his horse Agro, he must travel across the immense landscape seeking the colossi to save his love. Taking the form of various animals and other bipedal creatures, these colossi are tough and fierce. Their skin is tougher than leather, and the armor they wear is literally rock. However, by using his ancient sword, the man can penetrate the weak spot on them and destroy the towering beings and free his love's soul.

Shadow of the Colossus is set in the same universe as ICO, by the same development studio, and it is a prequel to the game.

Gran Turismo is a racing simulator for the Playstation like no other. People either love it for the tuning options, the hundreds of cars available to choose from and the general "feeling" of the races, or hate it for the same reason (the hard sim controls). Either way, GT3 is one of the top selling games for the PS2:

Story-wise, Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier picks up after the events of Jak X: Combat Racing. Jak, Daxter and Kiera travel to the Brink -- the edge of the known world -- to investigate the recent Eco shortage, and end up caught up in a struggle between the region's inhabitants and a group of Sky Pirates.

The gameplay is a return to the series' 3D platforming roots -- a balance of jumping/traversal challenges, weapon-based and melee combat. There are also several aerial combat segments (both objective-based and free-form dogfighting), as well as brawler-like stages where the player controls the giant, Hulk-like "Dark Daxter".
