Another SEGA AGES release which features reworked versions of 3 classic SEGA titles, Decathlete, Winter Heat and Virtua Athlete 2K all sharing similar gameplay mechanics which reward coordinated button mashing as seen on similar sport titles.

The graphics for all the games have been significantly upgraded and given the abundance of events and characters to choose from, the collection features 4-player competitive gameplay in which you can mix any character with any event, as well as three different gameplay modes: Free, Exhibition and Edit mode, in which you can set up your own series of events and challenges.

(PS2) Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol.26 - Dynamite Deka [NTSC-J] [221MB]

Although most of the Sega Ages 2500 library is forgettable at best, Sega kicked ass with this restoration of the ST-V powered beat 'em up classic Dynamite Deka (AKA Die Hard Arcade).

The reason being is that Sega went to great measures in enhancing the game's look and unlockable features to take use of the Playstation 2's extra power. All without compromising on the game itself. Dynamite Deka on PS2 definitely looks comparable to some of the full price games out at the same time. This is how you develop a budget game properly.

Game has English menus and messages.

Game's menu is in English so it's playable even if you don't know Japanese.

(PS2) Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol.19 - Fighting Vipers [NTSC-J] [91MB]

A remake of the one-on-one 3D fighting game Fighting Vipers for the PS2.

Fighting Vipers uses the same gameplay mechanics as Virtua Fighter but aims for a more distinctly arcade feel by loosing some of the gameplay depth in favor of speed and gimmicks such as two-piece armors that can be knocked off and destructible arena walls which can cause added damage as well as spectacular effects.

For the PS2 remake SEGA once again emulated their Model2 hardware under the PS2 to ensure an arcade perfect conversion, including the ability to run the game at 60fps or at 57.96fps (the actual speed of the original arcade version). Includes single, ranking and vs gameplay modes.

(PS2) Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol.24 - Last Bronx [NTSC-J] [154MB]

The re-release recreates the classic one-on-one 3D fighter under the PS2's hardware, and includes Arcade, Vs, Survival, Time Attack and Replay gameplay modes.

As with other Model2 emulated games you can choose whether to run the game at 60 or 57.5 fps. Also included is a series of still galleries with conceptual and promotional artwork.

Menus and messages seems to be in English. Enjoy.

(PS2) Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol.14 - Alien Syndrome [NTSC-J] [335MB]

Alien Syndrome is a remake of SEGA's classic alien blaster for its 3D AGES label. In the game, an alien threat has seized your spaceship and your mission consists of escaping the doomed vessel by clearing each section until you get to the escape pod in standard top-down sidescroller fashion.

As you progress through the starship you'll find other survivors of the alien onslaught whom you must rescue in order to get vital items and aid. You'll need all the help you can get, as a time bomb also threatens to destroy you if you don't leave fast enough. Fortunately for this remake (which incorporates 3D graphics and newly arranged music) you also get full dual-analog controller support which allows for independent movement and firing directions, as well as 2-player co-op gameplay as added features and to animated cutscenes between levels.

All messages are in English. Enjoy.

(PS2) Blood Will Tell: Tezuka Osamu's Dororo [NTSC-U] [1.33GB]

Blood Will Tell is an action game where the player controls Hyakkimaru, a man whose body parts were stolen by demons when he was a child. His destiny is to reclaim each of his body parts, which allow him to increase his stats such as HP and power, as well as optional special functions (for example, the eye displays the game in colour, while the vocal chords allow him to speak). Hyakkimaru wields a sword, which can be used to attack enemies - he can also swap for his two smaller swords concealed within his arms. As he uses the swords, they level up and increase in power. Hyakkimaru can also charge up a sword attack, and if released at the correct time, is given the opportunity to enter a series of button presses for combos. If the enemy is killed during this combo, the player can perform a finishing move with the Triangle button which can yield bonus items ranging from health items to swords.

Hyakkimaru is also outfitted with a repeating rifle and a cannon in his leg. While these are very powerful, they both require their own ammo and cannot be used without it. The gun can be fired rapidly at foes, while the cannon must be charged and aimed for a powerful shot. Both of these weapons have the advantage of being long-range weapons, unlike his swords which must be used at close quarters.

At a certain point in the game, Hyakkimaru meets the child thief, Dororo. Dororo often assists Hyakkimaru during combat, and can be issued commands, such as 'fight', 'evade', 'collect items' or 'search'. Sometimes the pair will split up, and Dororo will be playable on his own. These sections are more puzzle-based, with the thief pulling switches to activate puzzles, dodging traps, and stealing items. Dororo can throw rocks from a distance, and later gets smoke bombs which are more incapacitating.

Sonic and friends speed through tracks on air boards, using individual special moves to strike down opponents. Air is a big element of Sonic Riders. Your board's "fuel" source is air. You can fill up your air at various points on the course, but to race well you'll have to use another means of replenishment: performing tricks with your board. You'll also want to make use of turbulence from racers who are in front of you.

Players who journey through the Phantasy Star Universe, can find action as a single gamer in either an offline "Story" mode, as an individual adventurer online, or within a group by connecting to the Internet.

Offline, gamers take the role of 17 year-old Ethan Waber, a young cadet in a human security group known as the Guardians. Ethan is thrust into war after an alien race known as the SEED attack a colony of humans and kidnap his sister in the process. To save his sister and eventually the entire Phantasy Star Universe, Ethan must travel through 20 dungeons and three different planets while earning experience, upgrading his gear and attributes, and discovering hidden trinkets and treasures found throughout the game. He won't be alone, however, as an ensemble of characters will join him throughout the single-player adventure. Connecting to the Internet opens up three types of missions for single-player and group adventuring. Online universe users begin by creating their own character through a customization process complete with a variety of adjustable physical attributes. All players then gather in a pre-mission lobby to select and attempt a quest to complete, either alone or with a group of friends. Mission points, items, and other goodies are awarded in all three adventures based on performance. There are three types of weapons with 200 variations and 20 categories found in Phantasy Star Universe, including melee, TECHNIC, and ranged combat options. TECHNIC is a type of magical combat executed with a wand or other magic casting weapons. Two items can be equipped at one time, and gamers can group their weapon sets according to each tool of destruction's strength and weakness. All three styles can be used, interchanged, and improved to battle over 200 diverse enemies found in the game.

(PS2) The King of Route 66 [NTSC-U] [789MB]

One can certainly call Sega an eclectic game company without any hesitation. It tries different things, and...it gets atypical results. Take for instance, arcade-style 18-wheeler driving. Who would have thought that driving an 18-wheeler would be so much damn fun? In the arcades it's a visceral, horn-blowing blast. The steering wheel is heavy and stylized, the cabinet is massive, and the whole rig gives you the undeniable feeling that you are as close to driving an 18-wheeler as possible.

(PS2) Gungrave [NTSC-U] [907MB]

Instantly recognizable, due in part to the unique visual style of TRIGUN's Yasuhiro Naito, Gungrave casts players as Grave, an enigmatic, double-gun wielding anti-hero forged in much the same spirit as Todd McFarlane's Spawn character. Bent on the destruction of an evil criminal organization, Grave must traverse six unique environments, utilizing the dual handguns and coffin he possesses to literally destroy anything and everything in his path while doing so. At its most basic level, the gameplay in this third-person action title encourages players to destroy the various enemies along with the environments themselves. Uninterrupted carnage steadily increases the "Beat" meter, allowing players to achieve extended combos through carefully planned attacks. Higher scores and extra abilities are awarded for exemplary play.

The sequel to Yakuza continues the story from the previous game, featuring many recurrent characters. The main gameplay idea also remains the same - adventure-like exploration, hand-to-hand fighting, and slight role-playing elements, similar to the kind of gameplay that was introduced in Shenmue games. The sequel features some technical improvements, such as the ability to rotate the camera during the fights. It also contains more side-missions and mini-games, ranging from playing pool and mahjong to running a club and dating girls.
